Services

Physiotherapy Services at Our Airdrie Clinic

Every visit starts with a careful assessment, so your plan fits your body, your goals and your daily life. Here are some of the treatments available at our Downtown Airdrie clinic, each with a link to learn more.

Dry Needling and IMS in Airdrie

Dry needling uses thin, sterile needles to release tight bands in a muscle, called trigger points, that can cause pain and limit movement. IMS (intramuscular stimulation) is a related approach that often includes muscles near the spine. Ask us whether IMS-style needling is right for you. In Alberta, dry needling is a restricted activity that only physiotherapists authorized by Physiotherapy Alberta can perform. At our Downtown Airdrie clinic, needling is one part of a wider plan with exercise and hands-on care. Tell us if you are pregnant, take blood thinners or have a bleeding disorder.

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy in Airdrie

Pelvic floor physiotherapy is confidential care for bladder leaks, pelvic pain, and changes during pregnancy and after birth. Your physiotherapist explains each part of the assessment and asks for your consent before every step, and you can ask questions or pause at any time. Treatment may include muscle retraining, breathing work, education and a home exercise plan. If you notice sudden loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness around the groin, fever or unusual bleeding, see a doctor or go to emergency first.

Vertigo, Vestibular and Concussion Rehab

Vestibular rehabilitation uses guided head, eye and balance exercises to help with dizziness, vertigo and unsteadiness. For some types of vertigo, such as BPPV, your physiotherapist may use gentle head-positioning techniques. Concussion care aims to support a gradual, safe return to work, school and sport. Harman, who leads our Downtown Airdrie clinic, holds certifications in vertigo and concussion management. After a head injury, see a doctor first. Sports Injury Physiotherapy

Whether you play hockey, run the local pathways or lift at the gym, an injury can stall your routine. We look at how the injury happened and how you move, then build a plan with hands-on care, strength and mobility work. Common injuries we treat include ankle sprains, muscle strains, runner’s knee, tennis elbow and rotator cuff problems. Your plan includes clear return-to-sport steps, so you know when it may be safe to train again. If you cannot put weight on a limb or see a deformity, get medical care first.

TMJ and Jaw Pain Physiotherapy

Jaw pain, clicking, headaches or trouble opening your mouth wide can come from the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and the muscles around it. Physiotherapy for TMJ may include gentle hands-on techniques, jaw and neck exercises, posture advice and tips for habits like clenching. Harman, who leads our Downtown Airdrie clinic, holds a certification in TMJ management. If your jaw locks, you have swelling or fever, or the pain started after a recent injury, see your doctor or dentist first.
