Physiotherapy and Massage in NW Calgary

Healers Physiotherapy offers private, one-on-one physiotherapy at our NW Calgary clinic in the community of Ambleton. Visits are by appointment only, so you get focused time with your physiotherapist from start to finish.

Services

Physiotherapy Services at Our NW Calgary Clinic

Because each appointment is private, your physiotherapist has time to understand your pain, your goals and the way you move. Below are some of the treatments available at our NW Calgary clinic. Follow each link to read more about what is involved.

Dry Needling and IMS in NW Calgary

Trigger points are tight, tender spots in a muscle that can send pain elsewhere, such as from the neck into the head. Dry needling places a fine, single-use needle into these spots to help the muscle relax. IMS is a related technique that often targets muscles along the spine, so ask us whether IMS-style needling is a good fit for you. Only physiotherapists authorized by Physiotherapy Alberta may perform dry needling. Let us know about blood thinners, pregnancy or a fear of needles.

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

Leaking when you cough or run, pelvic pain, and recovery after having a baby are common reasons to see a pelvic floor physiotherapist. In a private, one-on-one setting, your physiotherapist talks you through the assessment and asks for your consent before each step. Your plan may include muscle training, breathing work and changes to daily habits. Seek medical care first if you have new bleeding, a fever, or a sudden change in bladder or bowel control.

Vertigo and Concussion Rehab

If the room spins when you roll over in bed, or you feel off balance after a fall or a hit to the head, a vestibular assessment can help find out why. Treatment may include repositioning techniques for BPPV, gaze and balance exercises, and a step-by-step plan for returning to activity after a concussion. Get a medical check first after any head injury, and call 911 for sudden dizziness with weakness, slurred speech or vision loss.

Sports Physio and Sports Massage

From weekend soccer to marathon training, a sports injury needs a plan that respects healing time and your goals. Your physiotherapist checks strength, mobility and technique, then sets clear steps for getting back to your sport. Sports massage with a registered massage therapist may help ease tight muscles between training sessions. Contact the clinic to confirm massage availability in NW Calgary.

TMJ Physiotherapy

The temporomandibular joint connects your lower jaw to your skull, just in front of the ear. When it is irritated, you may notice clicking, a tired jaw, pain near the ear or headaches. TMJ physiotherapy may use gentle jaw mobilization, exercises for the jaw and neck, and advice on clenching, chewing and posture. If your jaw locks open or shut, or the pain follows a blow to the face, see a doctor or dentist first.
